Special Sections of newspapers are not only a great and valuable way to help the community find information on a specific topic, but these informative limited-run inserts can add a great revenue stream. Here are several special sections I worked on during my time at TCN.
The Scoop was a weekly classified type publication that ran as an insert to our newspapers. It was rebranded by yours truly about six months after I arrived and the Marketing Director and I had some fun with it by switching out the header every week to keep things fun and interesting!
Leap Year Savings Spectacular was originally only supposed to be for the month of February in 2008 but was so popular and profitable for the newspapers, they it was extended for the entire year (Feb-Jan of '09). It was a very intense illustrator project that turned into a lot of fun. These are just a sample of some the of the fun graphics I created for that year-long campaign.
Our own AutoSource section was a six to eight page section that ran in our weekly newspapers either once or twice a month depending on advertising. Another item at the newspaper that I helped to rebrand.
